Welcome to VERNON PSYCHOLOGY PRACTICE
We offer psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families and groups in the tranquil setting of trees and hayfields on the east side of Vernon. The consulting rooms are confidential, comfortable and quiet. Our aim is to help people live life more fully with a sense of peace and joy.
People may come with psychological, emotional and/or life issues. For instance depression, long-standing difficulties in relationships or relating to others; family issues from the past or in the present; traumatic experiences that do not recede; life changes that are not easily accommodated; an unhappy past or childhood. Feelings of loss or bereavement as well as low self-esteem also lead people to seek therapy. While some problems seem identifiable sometimes the causes of depression or deep unhappiness may not be apparent although the pain is very real.w

We use Mind-Body Attunement Therapy with clients. We also provide Certificate and Diploma level training in Mind-Body Attunement Therapy to other therapists. Mind-Body Attunement Therapy is a dynamic intervention which combines the traditional interpersonal therapies of pioneers such as Bowlby with current neurobiological approaches influenced by Schore and Levine.
Mind-Body Attunement Therapy aims to create emotional well-being by working directly with the physiological elements of relational trauma stored in the nervous system. Interventions access deeply held anger, sadness and fear and gently discharge the engergy by generating a sense of calm and paying attention to the sensory changes in the bodies.
Mind-Body Attunement therapy is applicable to a wide range of issues including:
• Affairs, Breakdown, Rows, Separation, Loss of trust, Incompatibility, Drifting apart
• Work pressure, Redundancy, Panic attacks, Lack of confidence, Insecurity
• Bereavement, Low self-esteem, Depression, Abuse
• Addiction, Eating disorders,
• Anger or rage, Controlling behaviour, Domestic violence, Abuse
Our aim is to ensure that your therapy experience is a positive one that offers the potential to be enriching, validating, liberating and personally empowering.
You can be confident that we are skilled listeners who work in a non-judgemental and confidential setting and at a pace and frequency that is comfortable for you.
